Amentum Electronic Technician C - Calibration Laboratory in Kekaha, Hawaii

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician C for a position on Kauai, HI . Supporting the Measurement Systems, Calibration Lab Department. With minimum supervision, calibrate, all types of Temperature, Physical, Mechanical, and Electrical instruments and associated equipment located throughout the PMRF environment. Examples of the types of equipment are Aircraft Tire Inflators, Aircraft Air Data sets, Pressure Gages and Switches, Flow Meters, Hazardous Gas Detectors, Cable Tensiometers, Scales and Dynamometers, Electrical Panel and Switchboard Meters, Torque Wrenches, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Dial and Vernier Calipers, and Digital and Vernier Inclinometers.

Responsibilities

Specific assignments and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Assist in calibration and maintenance of Physical/Mechanical and Electrical instruments.

  • Perform and document periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with Navy Metrology procedures and/or OEM guidelines.

  • Installs, check, calibrate and perform acceptance tests on new and relocated system and equipment.

  • Enforces and maintains the company’s 5S objectives.

  • Performs other duties are assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Electronics and Mechanical shop environment with period assignments at remote sites such as Instrumentation on the Range Recovery Boats at the Marine department and Power Plants at Barking Sands, and Makaha Ridge.

  • Lifting 10-25 lbs.

  • Pushing and pulling of over 50 lbs. (two-men assist).

  • Work positions requirements: walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, or cramped, work requiring repeated stooping.

  • Working environment activities: Customer contact, extended workday, confined work area, office laboratory and field assignment, and inclement weather.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent.

  • Four years of progressive experience in a related field with a minimum of two years’ experience in the specific field of assignment is required. Additional related technical schooling can be substituted for experience.

  • Possess good understanding of basic math skills and basic electricity.

  • Possess and demonstrate fundamental knowledge of physical/mechanical theory and application.

  • Must possess the following PC skills: MICROSOFT OFFICE: Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred

  • Satisfactory completion of a two-year technical school in Metrology, such as Keesler Air Force Base Calibration School, or equivalent training is desired.

  • Two or more years of demonstrated experience in maintaining and operating similar systems may be substituted for the technical school.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
