Dartmouth Health Clinical Paramedic - Emergency Department (ED), Nights in Keene, New Hampshire
The ED Paramedic functions as a member of the ED clinical team providing direct patient care within the scope of paramedic practice in collaboration with and under the supervision of ED Medical Director/Nursing leadership. They will promote and maintain the philosophy, values, standards of performance, and goals of the organization and the department. Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and achieve desired outcomes. Responsibilities of the ED Paramedic include but are not limited to patient triage, directs care as part of ED team including interventions and assessment of patient condition and response to treatment, provides medication administration within paramedic scope of practice. Transports and monitors patients to ICU, radiology, CT, and other diagnostics; provide additional staffing for transfer to a higher level of care when necessary, obtains vital signs including orthostatics, EKGs, IV insertion, care, and removal, venipuncture and specimen collection, performs FSBS with glucometer, completes and/or assists with wound care, personal care/assistance with activities of daily living, documents interventions within the scope of practice in patient record; responds to call lights. Associates Degree preferred. 3-5 years in EMS or related healthcare field preferred. Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's Paramedic Certification (NRP). BLS, ACLS required. Current PHTLS, ITLS or proof of audited ATLS or audited TNCC. PALS, CCP-C preferred.
