Queen's Health System Maintenance Worker - Full-Time 40hrs/week, Days (Molokai General Hospital) in Kaunakakai, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
Molokai General Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Worker to work in our Facility Services Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing general carpentry tasks, maintaining the building, grounds, plumbing, and electrical/electronic equipment of Molokai General Hospital (MGH) in attractive, orderly, and safe state.
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs general carpentry tasks. Maintains the building, grounds, plumbing, and electrical/electronic equipment of Molokai General Hospital (MGH) in attractive, orderly, and safe state. Repairs and maintains all hospital equipment not under maintenance contract.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential: Seeing, hearing, speaking, standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, lifting weight of 20 pounds to 80 pounds, pushing and pulling usual weight of 40 pounds to 100 pounds, carrying usual weight of 5 pounds to 40 pounds, , reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
Operates all shop tools.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Both inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat or cold (temperature and duration), noise and/or vibration, hazardous physical conditions, and atmospheric conditions which affect the respiratory system or skin.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High School graduate or the equivalent.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required in accordance with Hawaii State law rules and regulations.
EXPERIENCE:
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Knowledge of general maintenance skills.
• Knowledge and/or familiarity of hospital electronic equipment, such as steam boiler, electronic beds, call buttons, other biomedical equipment, refrigeration and cooling equipment, and sterilizers.
• OSHA Category 2 exposure.
• May be required to lift 80 lbs.
