Inframark, LLC Meter Replacement Technician in Katy, Texas

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for the replacement of water meters.

  • Adheres to company’s health and safety policies as they relate to job functions.

  • Completes and fills out work orders.

  • Replaces water meters ranging in size from 5/8” to 1”.

  • Performs minor repairs on items such as curb stops, meters, meter boxes, house lines, etc.

  • Assists with inspection and repair of district owned utilities i.e. blow offs, valves, fire hydrants, manholes, inlets, etc.

  • Utilizes various hand tools such as shovels, saws, wrenches, cutters,screwdrivers, etc.

  • Ensures assigned vehicle, equipment and tooling is kept clean,

organized and in working order.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional appearance.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • (Desired) Class D water license or the ability to obtain one within one year.

  • (Desired) Collections Class I wastewater license or the ability to obtain one within one year.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • Mechanically inclined with basic plumbing skills.

  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

  • Bilingual preferred but not required.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

  • Must possess mobility to work in wastewater treatment plant and related facilities; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work in confined spaces, around machines and to climb and descend ladders, and to operate varied hand and power tools; vision to read gauges and identify appurtenances; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone.

  • The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

  • Employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials/equipment and objects up to 75 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment.

  • The employee will encounter a typical office environment with low level noise exposure and with a team oriented staff

  • The employee will work outdoors and might be exposed to loud noise levels, hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.

  • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends as required.
