Description

The Event Streaming – Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading event streaming solutions using Confluent Kafka, Redpanda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of event streaming solutions using Confluent Kafka, Redpanda ensuring scalability, high availability, and real-time data processing capabilities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

  • Provide technical direction to the team in implementing event streaming solutions using Confluent Kafka, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and connectors.

  • Mentor and guide team members on best practices for event-driven architecture and integration.

  • Design, implement, and optimize automated build, deployment, and release processes for event streaming applications and components.

  • Ensure that deployment workflows are consistent, well-documented, and aligned with industry best practices.

  • Manage configuration settings, environment variables, and performance tuning parameters for Confluent Kafka clusters and associated tools.

  • Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure the health and performance of event streaming platforms.

  • Lead and manage a team of build engineers, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and career development.

  • Cultivate a collaborative team culture that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and excellence.

  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, application developers, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of event streaming solutions.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather integration requirements and provide technical solutions for event streaming use cases.

  • Identify opportunities for automation in event streaming processes and implement tool enhancements to streamline build, deployment, and monitoring workflows.

  • Evaluate and implement relevant tools and technologies to improve efficiency.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for event streaming processes, standards, best practices, and troubleshooting guidelines.

  • Provide training and workshops to internal teams on effectively using event streaming tools and platforms.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing event streaming solutions using Confluent Kafka/Apache Kafka, Redpanda(1Yr).

  • Hands on with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes, GitOps etc.

  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, real-time data processing, and streaming technologies.

  • Previous experience leading technical teams, fostering growth, and building a collaborative work environment.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation, such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools, monitoring tools, and build automation tools.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka and related components within the Confluent platform is highly advantageous.

  • Relevant certifications in event streaming technologies, such as Confluent Certified Developer or Confluent Certified Operator, are a plus.

Qualifications
