We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager with hands-on expertise to build and lead a high-performing team responsible for ensuring our applications are delivered seamlessly, perform optimally, and withstand unexpected challenges. You will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing strategies across these critical areas, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. This is a hands-on role, and you would be required to design and implement the solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team: Recruit, motivate, and develop a talented team of engineers specializing in release engineering, performance engineering , and resiliency engineering . Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where team members can thrive and contribute their best work.

  • Own the release engineering process: Design, implement, and continuously improve our release pipelines and procedures from creating release branches, merging changes & deploying code to test and production environments. Ensure releases are executed efficiently, reliably, and with minimal risk. Champion automation across the release process, leveraging tools and technologies to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

  • Champion performance engineering: Establish performance goals and metrics, identify, and address performance bottlenecks, and ensure applications meet defined performance standards. Continuously optimize application performance for scalability and speed. Build automation capabilities to improve efficiencies and provide faster feedback.

  • Champion resiliency engineering: Design and implement tooling & strategies to build robust and resilient systems that can withstand failures and unexpected events. Implement chaos engineering and fault injection practices to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with Development, QA, Operations, and other teams to ensure alignment and deliver successful releases. Advocate for best practices across release, performance, and resiliency engineering within the organization.

  • Track and measure success: Define and monitor key metrics for release performance, application performance, and system resiliency, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.

  • Stay ahead of the curve: Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in release engineering, performance engineering, and resiliency engineering. Advocate for best practices and implement innovative solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing release pipelines in automated fashion.

  • Deep understanding of code branching strategies

  • Deep understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principles and practices

  • Strong knowledge of release automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Helm Charts, GitHub actions)

  • Experience with programming languages (Java preferred)

  • Solid understanding of performance engineering principles and methodologies (profiling, load testing, optimization)

  • Deep knowledge of resiliency engineering practices (e.g., fault tolerance, disaster recovery)

  • Hands on Experience with distributed cloud platforms liked Docker, Kubernetes

  • Experience with chaos engineering and fault injection practices & tools (Chaos Monkey, Gremlin)

  • Soft Skills:
