Robert Half Risk Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Description We are on the lookout for a Risk Manager in Kansas City, Missouri. This role centers around fostering balance between risk exposure and revenue generation through proactive risk assessment, risk review and quantification, and risk reducing/mitigative actions. The Risk Manager will work in a fast-paced environment and offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage quantification tools, processes, and reports to capture enterprise-wide risk events and scenarios

• Collaborate with risk owners to build risk registries and design effective mitigation plans

• Coordinate with business risk owners to develop discussion topics for the Risk Management Committee around key risks and initiatives

• Lead and perform targeted risk assessments that integrate with other enterprise processes such as the business planning process

• Control consulting relationships in regard to budget and implementation deliverables as appropriate

• Direct analysis and data mining initiatives that identify, validate, and manage emerging risk exposures

• Assist in preparing enterprise risk management updates for the Audit Committee and the Board

• Adapt existing methods and procedures to address complex problems

• Develop or update risk management policies and procedures as needed

• Participate in enterprise risk management workshops and present or facilitate training sessions

• Provide cross-functional support and engagement in alignment with strategy, insurance and credit key initiatives. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management or a related field.

• Proficiency in auditing and financial auditing is essential.

• Strong understanding and experience in change management.

• Demonstrated expertise in compliance management.

• Proficiency in enterprise risk management and feasibility studies.

• Familiarity with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and procedures.

• Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and within a team.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required.

• detail oriented certifications in risk management are preferred.

• Proficiency with risk management software and tools.

• Strong understanding of industry regulations and legal guidelines.

• Excellent decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
