ASM Global Conversion / Change Over Crew in Kansas City, Missouri
Job Summary:
Conversion Crew member is responsible for converting the building for various events including installation and removal of the basketball floor, retractable seating, stages, moving furniture and various other duties involving set up for each event. This physically demanding position requires the candidate be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and be available to work a flexible schedule revolving around the event calendar as needed which includes evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a great part-time year-round opportunity where work hours are event-driven.
Essential Duties:
Assist with event setups, changeovers, and operational tasks as directed by the manager and supervisor which may include tables, flooring, risers and portable seating, etc. are completed in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a smooth transition between events.
Perform facility operational tasks on non-event days including storage of equipment, furniture, tools, and identifying damaged equipment.
Ensure the proper maintenance of all equipment. Arrange for the repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
Works with other in-house staff to ensure production requirements are met and promoter/client requests are fully executed.
Contributes to the team dynamic by assisting coworkers, maintaining a safe and clean work area and helping to develop and maintain a positive work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
Related work experience: Working knowledge of event changeovers and setups.
Able to read, communicate and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines efficiently and safely.
Interact with co-workers and the general public professionally.
Must be able to regularly lift, push and pull objects up to 50 lbs. and to kneel, stoop, bend climb stairs, and reach/lift above head.
Working knowledge of assembly operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging equipment, trussing, hand tools, power tools, etc.
Comply with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. using cleaning chemicals, reporting incidents etc.)
Reliable, comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as event schedule requires.
Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift certification
Knowledge of staging and production equipment
