What would I be doing?
Position Summary
Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino and Hotel is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Kansas City has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel and more. Ameristar Kansas City also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar Kansas City is looking for a Cashier/Server/Bartender to serve food and beverages to guests in a quick, efficient and courteous manner. The successful candidate will also provide cashiering services for guests and coordinate activities of dining room team members engaged in providing courteous and prompt service to our guests. SERVICE WITH A SMILE IS ALWAYS REQUIRED!

Greet guests with a smile!
Must be familiar with menu, daily specials, and preparation of foods and prices
Ability to use suggestive selling (i.e., cocktails, appetizers, desserts, etc.)
Take customer’s orders and accurately input the order into the computer
Observe and anticipate guest’s needs, keeping tables and bar area cleared.
Present check for payment when all guests’ needs have been met
Practice good safety and cleanliness procedures
Assist other team members in job functions when appropriate.
Adhere to department and property policies and procedures
Must have knowledge of all service job responsibilities: Food server, Bus Person, and Runner.
Job Tasks must be finished in a timely manner according to department standards
This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty
Responsible for understanding the operation of all soda, juice and liquor guns and keep bar completely stocked for next shift
Responsible for the handling of Company funds through cash transactions on the Micros System
Follow all cash handling procedures as listed in the Food & Beverage Manual.
Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages
Handle the chemicals for the glass washing machine in a safe manner
Responsible and accountable for all cash variances +/- $10.00

Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment
Excellent ability to multitask
Knowledge of up selling techniques
Must be able to successfully complete a TIPS training class. (Responsible service of alcohol)
Able to communicate sufficiently with co-workers and supervisors
Must be able to handle a flexible schedule
Extremely outgoing personality
Exceptional work habits
Ability to be on time to each scheduled shift
Always conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image
Ability to establish rapport with other team members throughout the casino
Maintain a positive attitude at all times
Required Education and Work Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 6 months experience as a server or bartender in a dining establishment preferred
Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays
