This position will be located in Kansas City, MO

Summary of Duties:

  • Performs installation, functional and performance testing, maintenance, and modification of vendor supplied software

  • Participates in planning sessions with customers to improve business processes and prioritize investments in process, people, services, and infrastructure

  • Proactively analyzes existing applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements

  • Identifies system requirements, develops application specifications, leads conversion and migration efforts, and develops convergence plans toward standards

  • Assesses customer needs to determine alignment of unit/corporation business needs and the impact on business processes to establish strategic priorities

  • Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code

  • Identifies better sources of data feeds and interfaces with Enterprise Architects to ensure feasibility with corporate data warehouse

  • Ensures the adherence to quality standards and procedures, reviews modules for quality assurance, ensures compliance with application architecture standards and oversees unit testing to ensure applications meet specifications.

  • Leads the development of guidelines and standards to be utilized in software development/ integration including developing and leading implementation plans for integration testing. Interfaces with testing teams to incorporate plans into integration testing process.

  • Provides technical guidance or business process expertise, technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members

  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.

  • Takes actions necessary to ""stop"" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified

    You Must Have:

  • US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance

  • Five or more years of direct work experience

  • Bachelors degree, certification or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree and certification

  • Demonstrated experience in serving as a Technical Lead in support of projects

    We Value:

  • Using and/or administrating PTC Windchill 11.0 or later

  • Experience using SysML or UML modeling languages

  • Programming experience in major programming languages

  • Maintenance & Database health check and performance tuning.

  • Experience in Systems Administration

  • Multi-CAD Visualization via CREO and/or Solidworks

  • Has a broad level of understanding surrounding information systems

  • Demonstrates high or broad level industry knowledge

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, maintain accurate records, prioritize work and analyze problems to develop innovative and effective solutions

  • Demonstrated initiative to maintain technical currency through outside studies and training

  • Ability to identify appropriate level of team interactions to resolve issues and lead effective collaboration and meetings

  • Advanced skill in identifying and resolving technical problems and effectively communicating the problems to vendors, customers, and team members

  • General knowledge of Cyber Security design requirements

  • Ability to develop and communicate a technical vision that is easily understood by all levels of management

  • Proven ability to mentor peers to better results and identify appropriate training to improve teams technical bench strength

  • Ability to work without supervision, given latitude for independent action, for decision making and for developing solutions
