Custodian needed for Valley High School Kane County.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and must demonstrate the ability to read and write English at a level required for successful job performance.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills.
- Available some weekends for work assignments.
- Applicant must pass a background check.
- Hold and maintain a Utah driver's license.
- General mechanical and maintenance knowledge.
- Physical ability must be able to climb ladders and move heavy items.
Description:
Valley High School - Custodian, full time/40 hrs-week, 12-month contract. Under the direction of the principal and/or maintenance supervisor, this position will perform a variety of cleaning work in offices, classrooms, restrooms, or other buildings; assisting in maintenance activities and performing other related duties as assigned. Regular attendance and timeliness are essential job functions to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Starting wage is based on district pay scale, with 401k, full individual/family health and dental insurance, including Utah Retirement. Must pay for and pass a background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This position may change or evolve in the future, but is not limited to the following:
Sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors
Clean and vacuum rugs and carpets
Clean and sanitize restrooms
Dust and polish furniture and woodwork
Assist in moving/loading/transporting furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials
Clean and polish windows, classroom doors and drinking fountains
Clean and polish metal work
Replace light bulbs
Clean window blinds
Pick up debris on grounds
Assist in routine grounds keeping
Clean and maintain entryways
Conform to district policy regarding attendance and absences. Employee attendance must be adequate to perform the above listed essential job functions
Maintain, operate HVAC rooftop units
Maintain mowers, tractors, small engines
Maintain/repair/install lawn sprinkler systems
Yard maintenance/snow removal
Be able to work at other schools for special assignments
Basic carpentry, plumbing, construction, and electrical skills
Be able to climb ladders, work on roof areas and perform other duties at high elevations
Be able to lift equipment or other heavy objects
