Logan Health Medical Transportation Coordinator in Kalispell, Montana
Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for communicating, coordinating, and directing the deployment of personnel and equipment as it relates to medical emergency response and ground and air medical transportation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
Previous work experience in healthcare
Previous work experience in fire services
Previous work experience in EMS
Previous dispatching experience
Possess knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and meeting quality standards required.
Possess an understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to, HIPAA guidelines required.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress environment and environments prone to high-capacity sensory stimulation.
Experience working with multifaceted technologies, i.e. telephones, computers, and sophisticated computer programs preferred.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Excellent organizational skills, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Job Specific Duties:
Responsible for communicating with various internal and external customers involved with patient movement and healthcare system operations.
Coordinates available resources to improve response to routine and emergency calls.
Exhibits an understanding and properly utilizes all communication equipment and programs per department protocol.
Assures compliance with emergency procedures and notifications per assigned area(s) protocol.
Appropriately prioritizes and dispatches A.L.E.R.T. and Logan Health EMS Network ground and air medical teams per department procedure.
Coordinates communication between all members of the healthcare delivery team to ensure safe and timely transport and transfer of patients.
Maintains safety as a primary role throughout all aspects of transport team resource coordination, operational awareness, and multi-mode tracking of transport assets (ground vehicles and aircraft).
Identifies areas of concern and makes strategic recommendations for improvements to assigned leadership as applicable to assigned area(s).
Interfaces effectively with peers and customers and assumes responsibility for professional development of self and others.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
