Print Operator| Kalamazoo | HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Do you have experience working as a Print Operator, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Paper Production? We want you on our TEAM!!!

Position Description:

Primary function is to commence a set-up, complete it and follow through to final production

on all equipment including printers, baggers, lip rollers and repack machines. In the event of

production problems, the function is to trouble shoot, facilitate and initiate cost effective

repair. Maintain equipment of the Print Department and complete pertinent reports.

Compensation:

  • Starting Pay at $21.09/hr + $1/hr shift differential paid weekly

  • Eligible for pay for skill program to increase pay as you gain skills

Available Shifts: 5:20PM- 5:30AM on a 223 Schedule

Schedule:

Week 1 : Monday(work), Tuesday (work), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Weekend (work) 48 hours

Week 2: Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (work), Thursday (work), Weekend (OFF) 36 hours

Week 3 : Monday(work), Tuesday (work), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Weekend (work) 48 hours

Week 4: Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (work), Thursday (work), Weekend (OFF) 36 hours and so on

Responsibilities

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to operate all machinery in the department.

  • Should be able to diagnose all malfunctions. Repair and/or adjust machinery unless special tools or skills are needed.

  • Perform all set-ups on all machines in a timely period to produce an acceptable product in accordance with customer demands and expectations.

  • Must have a fundamental understanding of mechanical and electronic machinery.

  • Expected to inspect for quality and make necessary judgmental decisions on quality.

  • Will be expected to maintain accurate records for both productivity and quality.

  • Will be expected to identify faulty parts, obtain spare parts, and provide the proper information for ordering replacement parts.

  • Assist in training new employees or upgrading existing employees.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • Be diversified and willing to assist in a variety of areas.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department manager.

  • Other duties as necessary

  • Demonstrates ability to match image to target sample.

  • Demonstrates ability to understand quality variables and attribute defects.

  • Demonstrates ability to perform checks per procedure.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates ability to perform Root Cause Analysis, implement corrective action and understand cause and effect.

  • Demonstrates ongoing cooperation with Maintenance Dept. regarding equipment operations and needed repairs.

Operate Equipment:

  • Can demonstrate a thorough knowledge of printing machinery and company specific products being manufactured.

  • Can demonstrate ability to do job specific set-up using hand tools.

Efficiency:

  • Ability to maintain optimum machine efficiencies and up time.

  • Ability to meet or exceed performance standards and continuously improve upon them.

  • Ability to set machine controls to regulate ink flow, machine speed, and printing pressure.

Product Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of FK products and materials and can differentiate between them.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school education is minimum.

  • Mechanical aptitude and color vision should be pre-tested for acceptability.

  • Employees should be able to work with minimum supervision and maintain technical proficiency.

  • Speaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetings

ADA – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Must be able to:

  • Work 12-hour shifts, standing and walking for extended periods

  • Climb

  • Heed safety warnings, devices, and alarms

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Possess an adequate ability to do problem solving and establish cause and effect relationships in an office and/or manufacturing environment.
