We are looking for a Senior Product Development Specialist to join our Ice Cream Development Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development, innovation and renovation of ice cream products/processes/systems from inception through all stages of development under the Idea to Launch (I2L) principles, method/tools and ways of working. You will contribute to concept generation and define project overall Key Success Criteria as subject matter expert. In addition, you will ensure effective handling of knowledge gained during the different stages of a project.

A day in the life of a Senior Product Development Specialist…

  • Proactively propose and drive new ideas/projects/methods to R&D Center, Strategic Business Units and markets aligned with consumer trends

  • Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends and developments in relevant field of activity (R&D report, notes, patents, etc)

  • Explore breakthrough process or technology that are patentable

  • Actively promote Idea to Launch (I2L) Mindset and ways of working (including system)

  • Give operational assistance in industrialization start-ups and product improvements following the technical assistance way of working

  • Integrate Scientific, Technology, Quality and Safety and Environment knowledge into business

  • Recommend, plan and deliver technical and scientific support for Ice Cream projects

  • Lead and manage knowledge building and business related project activities with a proactive participation

  • Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties or stakeholders

  • Ensure Idea to Launch (I2L) project execution using Idea to Launch (I2L) ways of working and tools

  • Suggest, create and improve ice cream prototypes

  • Coordinate with local contracted ice cream manufacturers and/or markets to execute scale up of prototypes

  • Provide accurate and on-time support to markets with effective (quality, cost and on-time) and sustainable solutions

  • Actively participate in expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites

  • Provide competency development and coaching to global Application (AG) Ice cream Team

What will make you successful

  • BS in Dairy, Food Science or Food Engineering required

  • MS in Dairy, Food Science or Food Engineering preferred

  • 5 years minimum R&D and/or application group product development experience

  • 5 years minimum project management experience

  • 5 years minimum experience in ice cream R&D or application group
