Position Specific Description At NextEra Energy Inc., our people are our greatest asset and our Power Delivery IT team is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to help take us to the Next Era. In this role as a Scrum Master, you will lead and facilitate dedicated agile teams where team members are geographically diverse to deliver business value through their development and delivery execution. You must be able to build trusted relationships with the team and with their stakeholders to ensure the needs of all team members are met. The right candidate will embrace and display servant leadership behaviors that come with the key mindset shifts associated with being Agile and facilitate the team becoming self-managing and high-performing. The selected candidate will closely work with Release Train Engineer. Scrum master certification and experience with Scrum and/or Kanban software support and development teams preferred. Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is desired. Experience managing budgets is desired and Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospective and sprint demos
Coach team members, external teams, Product Owners and Stakeholders on Agile practices
Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
Communicate with other management, developers, product managers and technical support specialists on product issues.
Facilitate effective communications and collaboration among team members and across teams
Assist the Product Owner in keeping the backlog refined
Ensure cross-team coordination
Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing
Help manage dependencies among teams and third parties
Perform other job-related duties as assigne
Preferred– 5 years recent work experience as a scrum master of 1-2 teams, Scrum education or certification preferred
Position will focus on driving IT efforts for business domains such as Field Tools
Manage vendors and budgets at the team and project level
This job provides leadership and direction to an Agile team, serves as an expert in the Scrum process, and enforces Scrum rules and framework. Employees in this role organize and facilitate release and sprint planning sessions, daily stand-up meetings, sprint demos, retrospectives, story refining sessions, and related activities. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Organizes and facilitates work planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, and sprint and release planning
- Facilitates collaboration for both internal and external teams, resolving conflict, removing impediments, and reducing external dependencies
- Coaches team members and stakeholders in preparation for Scrum ceremonies and events and in goal attainment
- Coaches team in Agile sizing techniques, makes appropriate and realistic commitments, and works closely with Product Owners
- Uses the Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool to prepare, communicate, and share team metrics and delivery results
- Creates a product roadmap, coaches the writing of value-driven user stories, features, and epics, and maintains a well-refined backlog
- Provides regular feedback to the Agile Transformation Team about new insights and lessons learned from team experiences
- Embraces servant leadership and displays behaviors that come with the key mindset shifts associated with being Agile
- Keeps informed and educated about industry trends concerning Agile methodologies
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
