English / Spanish Translator needed for Medical Facility in Joliet
Temporary Role
$23-$25/hr
Essential Job Functions:
Provide oral communication with patrons in various settings, interpreting English questions to another language and vice versa, while conveying the speaker's intended meaning and emotions.
Translate educational information from English to another language in both individual and group settings.
Perform sight translations of documents between English and another language for review.
Maintain activity logs of interpreting and translating activities, including field visits, mileage, and reimbursements.
Preserve confidentiality during interviews and privileged communications.
Answer telephone calls, provide information, or route calls to the appropriate person.
Greet visitors, ascertain the nature of their business, and provide necessary information or assistance.
Manage the retrieval, stocking, and account for patient care supplies.
Maintain environmental cleanliness in patient care areas.
Copy correspondence and other materials as assigned.
Possess a good knowledge of specialized terminology in English and another language related to health and community services.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of professional staff and patrons.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required.
Experience: At least one (1) year of experience as an Interpreter/Translator in a Healthcare or Social Service environment.
Successful completion of an Interpreter bilingual assessment is required.
