Summary About the Position: This position is located with the 99th Readiness Division, Orders Branch, Regional Personnel Support Center, Human Resources Branch, Fort Dix, NJ. Responsibilities Review all administrative and military personnel related correspondence Ensure that reports are prepared in proper format and contain required information Ensure compliance with administrative regulations and procedures Advise the Commander, staff, and subordinate units on administrative matters pertaining to all types of military personnel actions Review incoming regulations and directives relating to administration and military personnel programs, functions, and procedures Continually keeps abreast of current regulatory requirements and developments in such areas as processing of military personnel and pay actions Maintain suspense logs of recurring and one-time reports Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; 1) includes processing a variety of personnel or pay actions; 2) conducting staff visits or inspections; 3) utilizing clerical or administrative procedures to complete reports and/or correspondence; 4) and interpreting and/or applying regulations or procedural requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Applicants who are current Federal employees or who are eligible for Reinstatement may be able to qualify with experience equivalent to the second lower grade, (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Strategic Management and Organizational Design and Development. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Manages and Organizes Information Personnel and Human Resources Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Position may be filled as a Term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Position may be made permanent without further competition. This position is obligated.
