Army Installation Management Command Recreation Assistant (Water Safety Instructor) NF-02 in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington

Summary This announcement is in conjunction with the JBLM NAF HR Office Job Fair at the Eagles Pride Golf Course in DuPont, WA on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Applicants participating in the event will receive first consideration. This position is located with the JBLM MWR Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Program. Responsibilities Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills. Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include; front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Teach students from age groups of infant through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. Work experience related to the duties described above and possession of the following certificates: - Water Safety Instructor Certification - Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - First Aid Certification (Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable) Highly desirable: Possession of a Lifeguard Certification NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and assessment/questionnaire. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
