Summary About the Position: as an Explosives Safety Specialist is located at United States Army Forces Command, Headquarters 7th Infantry Division Safety Office JBLM, WA . Responsibilities Serves as an explosives safety subject matter expert (SME) for the implementation of a comprehensive explosive safety program for all activities within the Division and assigned units. Provides continuous monitoring of the program to determine compliance with established policies and regulations and to determine the need for corrective actions and identify areas where improvements can be made. Prepares and maintains licenses for explosives operations and ammunition storage for unit's ammunition facilities. Prepares and staffs all necessary coordination of draft regulations and staff memoranda. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) assisting with monitoring an explosive safety management program to determine compliance with standard operating practices ; AND (2) ensuring compliance with explosive safety policies, procedures, and regulations to prevent mishaps and/or hazardous working conditions ; AND (3) assisting with evaluating ammunition, explosive, and weapons-related incidents and accidents; AND (4) providing safety and technical explosive guidance to customers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Explosives Operations Explosives Safety Information Explosives Safety Training and Information Dissemination Mishap Investigation and Analysis Techniques Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
