Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Planting, Cultivating, & Harvesting Row Crops. Duties include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, fertilize, spray and harvest crops. This includes crops such as cotton, corn, wheat, soybeans, and rice. Other duties include loading seed into planters; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; helping with grain bin minor repair, maintenance, clean out, loading and unloading grain into semi-trucks (workers will not drive semi-trucks), operating augers and grain conveying equipment, preparing scale tickets, and shoveling grain. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant/cultivate crop. Perform a variety of other duties such as drain water from fields with hand tools & shovels and tractors when needed, maintain/clean all hand tools & mechanical equipment prior to and after use. Along with assisting in irrigating crops by putting in levee gates and laying polypipe. Workers place grain onto conveyors to storage bins and elevators. Prepare barns, drain fields, prepare land for planting, and other work as directly related to the crop activities for which the worker is hired. Workers may mow the farm. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, track-hoes, ATVs/side by sides, forklift and skid steers. Workers must be able to work with minimum supervision. Workers must be able to perform general farm cleanup due to any weather damage such as wind, snow, ice, rain, or tornado damage. Workers must be able to perform and help with any general maintenance around the farm and with farm equipment, as well as routine. Workers may be asked to drive farm vehicles. May be asked to transport workers to/from housing,\ fields, grocery, etc.
