Summary

The Global Supplier Quality Team drives customer focus excellence and continuous improvement throughout our suppliers and ensures compliance with Industry, Customer and Celestica Requirements. As a member of the Global Quality team, this position is expected to perform in a unified, coordinated team effort under the direction of the Director of Global Supplier Quality. To assist in the qualification of excellent suppliers, ensure compliance and to improve supplier performance and the quality of supplied materials. This position interacts with Quality, Commodity and Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Engineering and other Celestica personnel, as well as supplier and customer representatives to improve processes that impact supplied materials.

Detailed Description

  • Drive customer and Celestica requirements/expectations flowed down to suppliers and sub-suppliers to ensure clear expectations are defined and understood.

  • Lead Quality Planning during new product introduction, flawless launch, transitions and significant process changes. Participate in supplier onboarding.

  • Develop, deploy and maintain robust Global Supplier Quality processes and procedures.

  • Work with Commodity and site teams to qualify suppliers, support risk-based Supplier Audit Program and oversee Supplier assessments to determine quality system, process compliance and capability.

  • Ensure FIR/PPAP completed and approved in line with Celestica, customer and industry requirements.

  • Work with Celestica’s site representatives, Commodity Team’s and Supplier’s to drive root cause and corrective action to effectively resolve problems (SCAR/8D)

  • Document, monitor and communicate supplier performance.

  • Escalate underperforming suppliers and drive improvements through deployment of Supplier Quality Development Plans.

  • Sharing of lessons learned across issue and across sites as appropriate.

  • Ensure supplier changes are communicated, managed and risks are documented and mitigated.

  • Support sites by assisting with Customer & third-party audits including conformance to QMS.

  • Provide education and guidance to other GSQ team members

  • Participate in Periodic Business Reviews of high impact/ Preferred Suppliers. Active engagement in Celestica’s supplier performance objectives.

  • Facilitate and manage the education of suppliers on core quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, 8D/ Root Cause Analysis and problem resolution.

Essential Requirements

Required e ducation, qualifications & e xperience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent applicable experience.

  • Min 10 years’ experience in an engineering Quality role

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Preferences given to candidates with technology experience in one or more of the following:

  • Complex Mechanical Assemblies

  • Semiconductor Industry Tooling

  • Electro-Mechanical Assemblies

  • Fabrications & Weldments

  • Machining

  • Robotics

  • Clean-room Environments

  • Supplier Special Process including: Cleanroom, Special Cleaning Processes, Painting, Plating, Welding, Complex Cable Harness Assemblies, etc.

Other Requirements

Desired Skills, should include multiple of the following

  • Semiconductor Industry “Copy Exactly” requirements

  • Technical drawing interpretation and geometric tolerancing

  • First Article Inspection, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Measurement systems Studies

  • ISO & Agency Certifications

  • A working knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques such as First Article Inspection, 8D problem solving, PFMEA, SCAR, Control Plan, SPC, Measurement System Studies etc

  • Ability to write technical documents, work instructions and QMS

  • Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data.

General:

  • Six Sigma Certification and/or Training

  • Demonstrated proficiency working with computers: Microsoft Office Apps (Excel), Enterprise Data Systems

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

  • May require some domestic and or international travel

  • Able to communicate in spoken and written English

  • Willing to be based at the Senai, Johor site

  • Working Days / Hours: 8am to 5.30pm (Mondays to Fridays)
