As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving business execution, growth, technology advancement, strategic planning, and talent development. You will lead a team of manufacturing engineers to develop and implement innovative solutions that meet F-16, F-35 and C-130 production schedules of our customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for CNC programmers, industrial engineers, planning and scheduling functions supporting production.

What You Will Be Doing

• Managing the review and incorporation of major and minor engineering changes, workarounds, tooling modifications, and manufacturing plans.

• Developing and improving manufacturing processes using tools such as statistical process control, advanced analytics, automation, and root cause analysis.

• Offering technical expertise in build processes, training, troubleshooting, and manufacturing system procedures.

• Leading the team through technical and logistical aspects, including interactions with system design teams focused on design for manufacture and automation.

• Developing and executing capital improvement plans, including leveraging existing technology and extending capability to support capacity and next-generation needs.

• Driving a culture of continuous improvement across planning, scheduling, assembly, collecting and reporting cost and schedule performance and new opportunity quoting

• Maintaining responsibility for manpower planning and hiring, leading development and execution of training activities, and maintaining recurring feedback and performance conversations with team members

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Manufacturing Engineering &/or Production Engineering experience

• Experience developing and troubleshooting manufacturing processes in a production environment to resolve non-conformances and improve efficiencies

• Leadership experience

• Drawing/blueprint &/or Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills

• Basic knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment

Desired Skills:

• Strong technical leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams through technical challenges

• 10-years Manufacturing &/or Production Engineering experience with knowledge of tooling, manufacturing planning and processes used in the F-35, F-16 &/or C-130 build processes.

• Knowledge of LM engineering change integration process.

• Knowledge of CNC machines, CAD/CAM systems and tooling concepts for precision machining operations.

• Knowledge of manufacturing capabilities to determine feasibility assessments for new opportunities

• Knowledge of Industrial Engineering, Planning and Scheduling functions and responsibilities

• Ability to liaison across Lockheed Martin disciplines and business areas to resolve and improve manufacturing processes

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
