ManpowerGroup Data Center IT Technician in Johnstown, Ohio

Our high profile client and global giant in eCommerce and Web Services Hosting is seeking a Data Center Technical Support Technician for a 6-11 month contract job opportunity in the Columbus Ohio area. In this role, you will be part of the Data Center Infrastructure team, responsible for day-to-day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work and capacity management. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of previous experience in hardware, networking, and Linux OS as well as high levels of initiative, judgement and diplomacy to align well with this team.

Job Title: Data Center Technician

Location: Columbus, OH

Pay Range: $25/HR on W2

What’s the Job?

  • Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cabling.

  • Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.

  • Ensure that the Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practices.

  • Report status via ticketing system, status reports, email, and slack.

  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.

What’s Needed?

  • 1+ year of Computer Hardware experience.

  • 1+ years of Computer Networking experience.

  • 1+ years of Linux Operating Systems experience.

  • All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations. Candidates should be able to lift to 50lbs and or work in elevated locations.
