Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, including investigations and incident response procedures.

  • Help implement, manage, and maintain security products, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, security information and event management (SIEM), and antivirus software.

  • Assist with the phishing program.

  • Participate in penetration tests.

  • Identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in software and systems.

  • Contribute to security assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures to protect the organization's information assets.

  • Maintain an understanding of security and regulatory requirements governing the use of information systems.

  • Provide training and support to staff on security best practices and protocols.

  • Help coordinate with vendor owners to ensure vendor management processes are followed.

  • Verify vendor information requirements are entered correctly.

  • Strictly adhere to company procedures and guidelines in all facets of this position and maintain confidentiality related to company information.

  • Encompass industry security best practices in all aspects.

  • Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.

  • May require occasional after-hours work to respond to security incidents.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Hiring Specifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of security products and technologies.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with management, end users, and technical vendors on security issues.

  • Ability to work independently, lead, or work as part of a team to achieve assigned tasks.

  • Position requires successful completion of a background check and drug test.

Preferred Hiring Specifications:

  • 2+ years of overall information security experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft’s environment including O365 and Azure.

  • Experience with email security.

  • Experience with network technologies.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.

  • Knowledge of SOC examinations and security regulations such as HIPAA and PCI.
