Actalent Phlebotomist II in Johnson City, Tennessee

Description:

The Phlebotomist will do the following:

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

  • Collect and store specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc

  • Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles

  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

  • Process billing information and collect payments when required

  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

  • Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100 correct.

  • Package specimens for transport.

  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.

Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED 0-2 years of experience
