About the Internship
The internship will allow a student to participate in business development and capacity building programming for Port Authority certified Minority Business Enterprises, Women-owned Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, and Airport Concessionaire Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The task will include outreach events, Customer Engagement Meetings, Meet & Greet Meetings, Vendor e-Blast, Monthly Reporting, and event planning.
Responsibilities
Support on Outreach programming and events (virtually and in-person)
Support on Outreach Budget Reporting
Support Business Recruitment, business Meet & Greets, and Customer Engagements
Assist in developing department presentations and other communications and briefings
Attend D&I employee engagement road shows, when applicable
Research organizations that provide diverse subcontracting/supplier opportunities
Additional projects and responsibilities as needed and assigned
Attend Outreach events in support of small business capacity building.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office
Strong interest in diversity and inclusion and human resources
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organized with experience working independently on multiple projects
Internship Details
The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
The format is expected to be hybrid

Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $30.31 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
