Robert Half Staff Accountant in Jersey City, New Jersey
Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements - Great attention to detail
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Efficient in ERP systems
Practical knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements
Adeptness in Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Monthly Invoices experience highly preferred
Background working with Monthly Journal Entries
Previous experience working with month end closings
Deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Close
Hands-on experience with Monthly Billing
Coding Invoices experience highly valued
Expense reports experience
Prior experience with Post Journal Entries
Experience with Invoice Processing
Comprehension of Invoice
Good understanding of Perform Month-end
Proficiency in Month-end Journal Entries
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
General familiarity with Monthly Financial Reporting
Prepare Journal Entries experience desired
Earlier work involving Monthly Reconciliation
Expense Reporting experience highly desired
Posting Journal Entries experience preferred
Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Record Journal Entries experience required
