HSBC Settlement Manager in Jersey City, New Jersey

As our Settlement Manager you will:

  • Oversee daily analyst output by reviewing end-of-day checklists, break reports, failed trade reports, funding reconciliations

  • Responsible for ensuring HSBC Securities meets all regulatory requirements (REGSHO, buy-ins, Possession or Control/Customer Segregation) associated with Equities Trade Clearance

  • Work closely with Regulatory Compliance to confirm failing trades are actioned within regulatory prescribed timeframes

  • First line escalation for complex issues, procedural questions, and interdepartmental queries

  • Represent the HSBC Securities at Risk/Control/Recon/Balance Sheet Substantiation meetings

  • Direct people management responsibilities -develop team of 9 to make certain career growth is available to all, guarantee fair end-of-year outcomes for staff, create succession plan for critical roles, etc.

  • Independent decision making abilities while engaging Senior Management at all times

  • Effectively manage multiple staffs /responsibilities and escalate where appropriate

  • Ability to apply Industry practices / mandates into BAU functions

  • Identify high risk functions ensuring strong controls are in place to mitigate risks

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $91,100.00 and $140,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Qualifications

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

  • Extensive knowledge of ADP/BPS, DTCC, with a concentration in Settlements processing

  • Experience working as Prime Brokerage trading support/operations

  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meeting deadlines

  • Advanced communication skills

  • Aggressive and quick learner who is able to multi-task

  • Minimum of 10 years of Operations experience, including people management experience

  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree or equivalent industry experience
