JPMorgan Chase CARI - Data Domain Architect - Senior Associate in Jersey City, New Jersey

The Finance Data & Insights Team is an agile product team responsible for the development, production, and transformation of Financial data and reporting across Consumer and Community Banking (CCB). As a Data Domain Architect - Senior Associate on the CCB Finance Data & Insights Team, you will play a key role in delivering monthly internal, external, and regulatory financial results for our Wealth Management line of business. You will identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes and utilize automation tools such as Alteryx, and partner with our Information Technology partners for system enhancements. You will extract, analyze, and summarize data for ad hoc stakeholder requests, and play a role in transforming our data environment to a modernized cloud platform.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the transformation and modernization of our data environment to serve the analytical and reporting needs of the CCB WM Finance Organization

  • Lead intelligence solution requirements gathering sessions with varying levels of leadership, complete detailed project planning utilizing JIRA to record planned project execution steps

  • Partner with the Technology Team to design and deliver data domains into the Finance Data Mart that brings together essential data categories to enable the Finance function to support their analytical and reporting needs

  • Source and maintain the Financial and Operational data required to transform and maintain the Wealth Management reporting

  • Conduct detailed reconciliation of results between data systems and business intelligence tools

  • Partner in the development of data wrangling workflows, data visualization solutions utilizing ThoughtSpot and Tableau and other end-user reporting interfaces and that provides intuitive insights to our key stakeholders

  • Work with IT to migrate to production the developed solutions and as an SME/escalation point for the deployed solutions

  • Work closely with end-users/IT during the UAT phase of the project and validate that production results comply with business requirements and expected results

  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to ad-hoc requests, \"what-if\" scenario data analytics, and regulatory inquiries

  • Develop expertise in our financial reporting platforms and support data analysis requests

  • Become a subject matter expert in these responsibilities and support team members in becoming more proficient themselves

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or other with relevant work experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, architecture, or financial reporting systems

  • Experience with business intelligence analytic and data wrangling tools such as Alteryx, SAS, or Python

  • Experience with relational databases optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets, report creation and ad-hoc analyses

  • Data Quality Management: Understanding of strategies and tools for data profiling, cleansing, and validation to maintain high data quality

  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the specific industry or business domain in which the organization operates

  • Demonstrated experience delivering process improvement or automation

  • Highly motivated, self-directed, curious to learn new technologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Experience in reporting development and testing, and ability to interpret unstructured data and draw objective inferences given known limitations of the data

  • Strong knowledge and experience with data management, data lineage, data dictionaries, and making data discoverable

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with Hive, Spark SQL, Impala or other big-data query tools

  • Experience with ThoughtSpot

  • AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or other Cloud Data Warehouse experience

  • Hyperion Essbase cube design and administration experience

  • Experience eliminating user tools, saving time, and increasing ability to generate insights through data, dashboards, and developing new capabilities

  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel)

Required soft skills

This role does not have a relocation allowance tied to it, so all candidates must be local to Jersey City, NJ office or willing to relocate on their own immediately upon hiring. Candidates must be able to physically work in our Jersey City, NJ office 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week. The specific schedule will be determined by direct management.
