Job Overview:

Required Certifications and Licenses:
Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
BLS certification through American Heart Association
MSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing and at least two years of supervisory experience or BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing and at least four years of supervisory experience.
Essential Functions:
Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and controls the clinical and administrative activities of the Unit in accordance with the Nursing Department s Strategic Plan; federal, state regulations and JCAHO standards. Ensure that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
Performs rounds to assess physical environment and delivery of quality patient care on the unit
Assures hospital safety by monitoring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Implements all national patient safety goals within Division
Collaborates with Nurse Managers and Staffing Office to identify the number and level of personnel required to provide quality patient care; initiates changes in personnel and assignments as indicated according to census and acuity.
Conducts frequent staff meetings
Applies policies and procedures consistently for all staff members
Maintains an environment conducive to productive open communication with staff.
Collaborates on a regular basis with Nurse Managers
Establishes clear and specific performance standards and expectations for staff members
