* Job Summary*

The Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of standard and custom panels, sub-assemblies, and systems. This person assembles or modifies cables and electrical assemblies from schematics or work instructions of a higher complexity.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced electrical assembler to join this team.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and basic testing of higher-level electro-mechanical assemblies 
  • Wiring within the system framework 
  • Mounting of mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies 
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical assemblies 
  • May include some on-site service work 
  • Safely work with standard tools and portable power equipment 
  • Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences
  • Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools
  • Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
  • Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts
  • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SPIRIT values
  • Assemble components onto panel following the mechanical layout with zero deficiencies
  • Wire components per the electrical schematic following predefined guidelines and standards
  • Capable of completing minor modifications for metal panel work like drilling and tapping
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

*Required *

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • 3 -- 5 years related work experience 

*Preferred *

  • 3 -- 5 years related experience with vocational or further educational training related to electrical engineering technology
