The Role

This high impact individual contributor role is responsible for developing new products (platforms) or making changes to existing products (platforms) to meet Public Sector market and customer solutions’ requirements. This position will partner closely with Public Sector and Enterprise Product Management Leaders and communicate effectively with Director and VP-level leaders. This role will collaborate closely with members of the Product, Technology, Sales, and Operations organizations to achieve results. This individual will successfully introduce solutions to market that generate profitable revenue through new product lines and platforms, capital efficiencies through technology advances, and operational efficiencies through process improvements and automation. This role will also be responsible for realizing an ideal end-to-end customer journey and will identify and lead efforts to address areas of greatest opportunity to improve the customer experience. This position requires strong project management skills, political and financial acumen, excellent ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally, a strong bias for action with sense of urgency, and a passion for delivering a differentiated customer experience.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Partners with and holds the Product Manager accountable for defining new products and completing the necessary steps towards an approved business case with a sense of urgency

  • Supports Product Management in business case development to evaluate product concepts and secure funding approval

  • Responsible for the successful development and management of Product Platform Lifecycle Process Projects for Public Sector Markets including Introduction Growth Maturity Decline and Retirement phases

  • Defines Key Performance Metrics for each capability to ensure proper business prioritization and to measure the success of implementation using a data driven approach

  • Facilitates defining and documenting the target customer experience

  • Uses voice of the customer feedback for continuous improvement

  • Assesses and adjusts product deployment schedule and priority to maximize revenue improve margins and align with corporate strategic direction

  • Develop project plans and maintains prioritized backlog of features

  • Partners with Development teams to drive toward planned dates

  • Participate and contribute to Planning Cycle reviews and various Agile ceremonies

  • Work with Quality Leads to identify Business test cases

  • Confirm Done work in review

  • Understands and executes within the broader organizational framework

  • Spearheads crossfunctional teams to achieve results

  • Effectively influences and delegates to achieve objectives

  • Identifies and develops key partner and vendor relationships

  • Partner with Product Management to assess the product portfolio financial health

  • Develops resolutions to complex problems that require frequent use of creativity

  • Uses judgment within broadly defined policies and practices

  • Performs in an internal expert role

  • Communicate both written and orally skillfully and appropriately with stakeholders and executives

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and relevant experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Development Manager in telecommunications or technology platforms and services provider

  • Experience with software and platform development

  • Experience with Scrum Agile Project Management methodology

  • Experience with Project Management Institute PMI Project Management Professional PMP or Portfolio Program and Project Offices P3O methodology

  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA toolsets

  • Agile or project management certification

  • Obsessed with creating an outstanding customer experience

  • Demonstrates experience with agile development and lean practices

  • Highly organized Project Management expertise

  • Ability to manage complex issues end-to-end

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with strong copywriting and design skills

  • Exhibits a growth mindset an ability to take risks question norms unlearn old habits and to not take oneself too seriously

  • Proven experience managing conflicting priorities

  • Demonstrates bravery to effect change and challenge the status quo

  • Takes initiative to develop new strategies and elicit creative solutions from project stakeholders

  • Works well independently and with a distributed responsibility team

  • Great at building and maintaining relationships across various organizations

  • Strong within cross organizational teams using exceptional problem solving skills

  • Adept at using all Microsoft Office products and collaboration tools

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$111480 - $148630 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$117340 - $156450 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$123210 - $164280 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$129080 - $172100 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
