Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Stadium Pitch and Turf Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the stadium design and construction project team, the Senior Specialist will provide technical expertise and leadership in the planning, design and installation of the stadium Pitch and Turf systems.
What You'll Be Doing:
Utilize extensive knowledge and expertise in sports turf management to advise on the selection, installation, and maintenance of stadium pitches and turf systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop innovative and sustainable designs for stadium pitches that meet the specific requirements of various sports and climates.
Oversee the installation and construction of stadium pitches and turf systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards, specifications, and timelines.
Conduct thorough inspections and quality assessments throughout the construction process to ensure the integrity, safety, and performance of the turf systems.
Stay current with advancements in turf technology, materials, and practices to continually improve the design, performance, and sustainability of stadium pitches.
Provide guidance, training, and support to stadium staff and maintenance teams on proper turf management practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors regarding all aspects of stadium pitch design, construction, and maintenance.
Assist in the development and management of project budgets, including cost estimation, procurement of materials, and resource allocation.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field.
Minimum of 20 years of experience in sports turf management, with a focus on stadium pitch design and construction.
Proven track record of successful project management and execution in the sports facility construction industry.
Strong technical knowledge of turfgrass species, soil science, irrigation systems, and turf maintenance equipment.
Certification from relevant professional organizations is a plus.
