Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Engineer-Sustainability to join our team and spearhead the technical aspects of detailed masterplanning for an ambitious mixed-use land development project. The Sustainability Lead Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the project adheres to the highest standards of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and resilience. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable design principles into every phase of the masterplanning process, from conceptualization to execution.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the development and implementation of sustainable design strategies for large-scale land development projects, with a focus on energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, water conservation, waste management, and green infrastructure.
Conduct comprehensive site assessments and feasibility studies to identify opportunities for sustainable development and mitigate environmental impacts.
Collaborate with architects, urban planners, landscape designers, and other stakeholders to integrate sustainability goals into the masterplanning process and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Provide technical expertise on sustainable building technologies, materials, and systems, and recommend innovative solutions to optimize resource efficiency and minimize environmental footprint.
Oversee the preparation of technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance documentation to support the permitting and approval process.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 18 years of experience in sustainable design and engineering, with a proven track record of leading sustainability initiatives for large-scale development projects.
Expertise in sustainable building practices, green building certifications, energy modeling software and environmental impact assessment methodologies.
