DiMartino Ice Company Production/Driver in Jeannette, Pennsylvania
DiMartino Ice Company has positions open for a full/part time Production/Driver These positions will take part in all aspects of manufacturing and delivery of ice products. Must be able to lift 75lbs. Must be able to operate a hand truck with 265lbs of weight on it.
Driver must maintain a valid driver's license & medical card to operate and maintain commercial vehicles. Computer skills preferred.
Position will include all aspects of manufacturing ice such as proper operation of packaging equipment, including a bagger, stapler, food safe shovels, and metal auger; proper method for packaging, stacking and transporting ice into various freezers; maintain the packaging equipment which includes keeping it lubricated and replenishing the wire when necessary; maintain proper weights of the two products that will be produced; safely operate a chainsaw that has been fitted with a guide to function as a mill for producing small blocks of ice down from a larger block; lining the machines and being able to identify a puncture in a liner; properly fill levels and ice additions; proplerly place "pickers" and pumps; properly measure and evaluate harvest dates; use a vacuum for removing excess water from finished blocks; proper safety procedures for operating the stationary chainsaw mill to square the block off and ready for packaging; safely store and stack blocks of ice in various freezers. properly recommend dry ice to customers based on their needs; how to custom cut blocks down to what a customer needs; how to dispense pellitized dry ice; invoice customers and take payment using laceup application; use google sheets to log and track deliveries for the route customer is on; perform maintenance checks and service on ice storage equipment; become familiar with routes and planning deliveries for the week; participate in team meetings regarding planning for the week's workload.
Training will be considered for the right candidate. Must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in the form of a CDC vaccination card.
