Jay Peak Resort Childcare Aide/Trainee - Winter 2024/25 in Jay, Vermont
PART-TIME or FULL-TIME | SEASONAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE

The Childcare Aide/Trainee assists in providing care for children between the ages of six weeks and twelve years in the childcare center for the guests and employees of Jay Peak Resort.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Follows all center based and preschool licensing requirements, policies, and procedures.
Follows all the Center’s policies, and procedures.
Always supervises children and ensure safety.
Displays the ability to communicate in a professional manner treating staff, children, and families with dignity, respect, and a friendly matter.
Actively engages children in reading, games, creative play, painting, drawing, songs, and similar activities.
Uses positive guidance and behavioral management.
Supports transition times.
Assists in diapering and toileting.
Assists in serving meals and snacks.
Cleans, sanitizes, and organizes facility daily.
Promotes best hygiene practices for self and children.
Maintains daily tracking sheets-infant feeding, diaper changes, daily health checks.
Other duties as assigned which may be directly related/unrelated to original position.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
A classroom aide is at least eighteen (18) years of age, is able to comprehend basic written format, and meets one (1) of the following qualifications:
At least a high school graduate or has completed a GED and completes the Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals’ course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate within the first twelve (12) months of employment; or
At least a high school graduate or has completed a GED and successful completion of a three (3) college credit course in child or human development or in school age care and education within the first twelve (12) months of employment.
Must learn to use WhenToWork software and manage a BFIS account
Must maintain continuing education credits as required by Vermont Licensing Regulations
Must be able to work flexible hours as needed which may involve weekends, evenings and/or holidays, and with all age groups
