Job Description: The laser operator safely performs laser cutting on a (Cinci Fiber, Mitsubishi) to cut metal. In addition, they will also be responsible for loading raw materials into the laser, monitoring its performance, and ensuring that it’s properly maintained.
Shift: 3rd Shift – 10:00pm – 6:00am; Sunday - Thursday
Reports To: Operations Supervisor

$3.00 Shift Premium for 2nd and 3rd Shift
What You'll Do:
Set-up, adjust and prepare laser machine according to blueprint
Load sheet tower with raw materials from Receiving utilizing a forklift
Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
Use hand tools to remove access scrap
Lift finished materials and prep using overhead crane and forklift
Understand how to manage daily work expectations and goals
Understand, interprets, and follows foreman’s report including priorities and start dates
Understand how to read material sheet tags and determines material types and gauges
Understand cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan
Follow all safety policies and standards
Is capable and willing to train other employees
Understand non-conforming process according to SOP-0003
Maintain accurate and timely system transactions
Can inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance
Inspects own work for quality standards
Other duties may be assigned
What We're Looking For:
The individual must have exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
On-the-job training will be provided for new operators regarding safety procedures, how to use the machine and how to operate the computer program.
Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand tools and air tools
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
Can record time accurately including “time and attendance” and “labor reporting” using the data collection system
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
