Job Description: Under the leadership of the engineering manager, lead all aspects of product/project development for customers and projects assigned.
Lead all aspects of product/project development for customers and projects assigned in accordance with company standards; including APQP where required.
Determine project requirements by studying product design, customer requirements and performance standards.
Mediate with customers to ensure product requirements are in compliance with the company's capabilities, industry standards and best practices.
Create and maintain product and project data; to include but not limited to development and maintenance of BOMs, manufacturing process data and tooling requirements.
Lead the planning, scheduling, and tracking of project timelines, milestones and deliverables, to include the identification of project dependencies and critical path.
Effectively communicate project expectations with internal and external team members,
Ensure accountability for self, the project team and cross functional team members in performance to the project timeline and related deliverables.
Proactively manage project changes throughout development and product lifecycle.
Develop and grow relationships with internal and external team members vital to the successful development of products/project.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
When applicable, effectively manage the performance and professional development of direct reporting employees and junior staff members.
Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and manufacturing process design.
Knowledge of the principles of Lean Manufacturing and the ability to implement in daily activities, product design and development.
Ability to lead engineering development of projects/products in a team based setting.
Effective understanding of design analysis tools and their required use.
Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
Strong Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to manage, develop, schedule and track multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven analytical, independent decision making and problem resolution skills.
Strong IS and PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Educational Preference: Bachelor's degree in either discipline is preferred
3 years of solid modeling experience using SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor or equivalent.
5 years of experience in sheet metal product design, machining elements and manufacturing.
5 years of project management or project engineering experience.
Preference given to candidates with project management experience in a sheet metal and/or job shop environment
