FT: General Laborer, Jamestown. General Laborer A warehouse associate/worker plays a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of a warehouse or distribution center. They are responsible for various tasks related to receiving, storing, inventorying, and shipping products or materials. The warehouse associate/worker works as part of a team and follows standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment, inventory management, and overall warehouse organization.

Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments, verifying their accuracy and condition.

Unload and inspect deliveries, checking for damages, discrepancies, or missing items.

Compare received products against purchase orders or packing lists and document any discrepancies.

Sort and organize received items and prepare them for storage or further processing.

Maintain accurate inventory records through proper documentation and data entry.

Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure inventory accuracy.

Prepare and label inventory for storage, ensuring proper identification and tracking.

Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.

Assist in the organization and optimization of warehouse storage systems.

Retrieve products or materials from storage areas based on pick lists or customer orders.

Verify the accuracy of picked items and quantities to ensure order completeness.

Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials and methods.

Label and stage packed orders for shipment or delivery.

Collaborate with shipping personnel to coordinate timely order fulfillment.

Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks following safety guidelines and proper training.

Conduct routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues.

Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and team members to accomplish daily tasks and meet productivity goals.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to address inventory, order, or shipment-related issues.

Qualifications and Skills Prior experience in a warehouse or similar environment is beneficial.

Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks (proper certification may be required).

Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation purposes.

Attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, packing, and inventory management.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a warehouse setting.

Steel toe boots required.

Benefits/Compensation Full Time

Pay Rate is $16.50 per hour
