Responsibilities What to Expect Maintain surveillance with the use of CCTV systems, both fixed and moveable cameras, visually throughout designated activities, observing customers, vendors, and employees, to prevent and detect situations related to fraud, loss, or theft. Shall carry out guidance from Asset Protection Supervisor. Identify and react to potential theft situations by detaining anyone suspected of a fraud or theft and escorting them to the Security Office; preparing incident reports pertaining to security incidents; gathering facts and evidence related to security incidents; reporting observations of real or potential losses, thefts, or fraud to Asset Protection Supervisor and law enforcement; maintaining close liaison with law enforcement authorities by ensuring documents, video and other evidence is available. May be required to appear and testify in court or at hearings concerning security cases. Becomes familiar with retail associate procedures, inventory management, vendor procedures, merchandise surveys, and standard register procedures. Checks to ensure areas of access are properly secured, alarm systems are operable, and opening/closing procedures are complete. Ensures unauthorized personnel vacate facilities after closing procedures are completed. Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. A minimum of one year of experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, and/or Security Environment that demonstrates ability to perform the above work under normal supervision. Must have good communication and analytical skills in the application of physical security techniques and methods, and ability to determine necessary actions under various security situations.
