Responsibilities

Responsible for day-to-day operations of retail and gift stores and oversight of assigned business partnerships. Has full profit/loss responsibility for multi-million-dollar store(s) and operational stewardship of assigned business partners. Prepares market research, qualitative and quantitative analysis and business plans associated with new retail and product opportunities. Leads cross functional teams and collaborates with enterprise counterparts, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or designated groups to optimize purchasing and contracting agreements. Assist with contract negotiations with related business partners. Identifies and sources technology and commercialization opportunities to enhance retail operations. Within Mayo, represents the Mayo Clinic Brand and assures only Brand Team approved items are available throughout Mayo. Responsible for the daily leadership, development, management, and performance of staff. Resolves service problems and develops and maintains policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining a quality product selection, inventory and expense management, and competitive pricing strategies. Coordinates closely with enterprise retail leadership to ensure consistency in processes, policies, product selection and customer relations. Strategically plans displays, promotions, signage, and product changes at all locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in business, finance, or related field and 3 years’ experience in business development or management of retail business including staffing, inventory management, customer service, purchasing, cash management, and pricing. Master’s and one year of business management is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative management approach and a strong business sense. Must be customer focused, service oriented and possess strong skills in team building, decision making and goal setting. Must possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills, be resourceful, and able to work independently on assigned projects. Solid understanding of marketing, e-commerce, social media, and Brand management. Personal computer application experience including PC Windows is required. Previous supervisory experience required. Entrepreneurial qualities and previous experience within Mayo Clinic are regarded favorably.

The normal schedule for this role is Monday-Friday from 8a-5p. However, there may be times when the schedule will need to be flexible (come in early/work late/weekend to support business operations.
