Manufacturing Engineer

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a project engagement at one of our Global clients in Jacksonville, FL.

This role is a full-time, fully benefited position.

As a Manufacturing Engineer placed with KellyOCG you will be responsible for the following:

As the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead -Optical Tooling, you will have oversight and accountability for the KPIs of the Optical Tooling Department within the Operations Support. Accountabilities include oversight of safety, quality, production targets, processing fulfillment, staffing, and coaching.

Additionally, the position requires the ability to effectively interface with Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, and Engineering Functions to ensure the fit and support of both near and long-range business objectives.

Also included in this position is the ability to proactively, identify, plan, and execute, future states in alignment with the progressions of plant and business strategies.

Direct responsibility for managing Optical Tooling Ops Support personnel in supplying functional groups with the inserts and tools needed to maximize quality and output within plant operations.

Accountable for providing the support resources needed to achieving production targets while maintaining cost controls. Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.

Essential functions / responsibilities:

  • Provides and oversees training, mentorship and supervision of leads and technicians in order to operate, troubleshoot and maintain insert manufacturing.

  • Coordinates teams of technicians as necessary for completion of priorities.

  • Supervises the alignment to safety, environmental, quality and regulatory policies & procedures.

  • Identifies and revises safety, regulatory, equipment and process training documentation.

  • Develops and implements improvements that will improve efficiency, product yield and safety.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


  • 2-4+ years of experience in manufacturing or engineering operations, and or project management

  • 2+ years supervision experience of a technical workforce preferred.

  • 2-4+ years of experience with CNC and or precision machining a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work in a clean room environment is a requirement

Important information: This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch.
