We are offering an employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in the IT software industry, based in Jacksonville, Florida. This role will involve managing and maintaining database servers, optimizing database security, and troubleshooting database errors. You will also be responsible for developing automation processes for database tasks and ensuring the database is protected and backed up appropriately.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the installation and maintenance of database servers.

• Ensure the optimization of database security and set database standards.

• Manage access to the database.

• Conduct performance tuning of database systems.

• Oversee the installation, upgrade, and management of database applications.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot any database errors.

• Recommend and implement new database technologies.

• Develop and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

• Create automation processes for repetitive database tasks.

• Be available for on-call support as required.

• Monitor system performance and identify any arising problems.

• Protect the database against any threats or unauthorized access.

• Ensure the database is adequately backed up and can be recovered in the event of memory loss.

• Report on metrics concerning usage and performance.

• Suggest changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.

• Regularly liaise with IT project managers and database programmers.

• Design databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.

Requirements • Proficiency in Database Management is essential for this role.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a must.

• Demonstrable experience in Database Administration is crucial.

• Ability to perform Database Backup and restoration tasks is necessary.

• Knowledge and experience in Performance Tuning of databases is required.
