KBR’s Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division is looking to add a motivated and skilled Data Scientist (2 years of experience) to join our team supporting NAVAIR’s Precision Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-201). KBR plays a pivotal role in the research, development, acquisition, and sustainment of the Navy's air-to-ground precision-guided weapons systems. Our team comprises a multi-disciplinary group of experts responsible for the total life-cycle management of the Department of the Navy's precision strike weapons capabilities. With the largest NAVAIR Foreign Military Sales portfolio, PMA-201 collaborates with KBR and 39 coalition partners, ensuring our precision strike systems' readiness and technological superiority.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing algorithms to process maintenance work order data, focusing on machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in maintenance management while working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement algorithms to analyze and process maintenance work order data related to precision strike weapon systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within KBR and PMA-201 to define data requirements and support various program areas.
Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Utilize machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing techniques to enhance data processing and decision-making capabilities.
Conduct data validation and ensure the integrity and accuracy of analytical outputs.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in data analysis.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a US Citizen with an Active/Current DoD Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
Experience: 2 years of experience as a data scientist with a proven track record in machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing.
Technical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience with Navy programs or military-related projects.
Knowledge of air-to-ground precision weapons systems and maintenance processes.
