Basic Job Functions:

SUMMARY:

Taking a lead role in tasks related to large multi-team engineering development projects to enhance the capabilities of our industrial doors, the Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for supporting the development and enhancement of our product lines. Executing and documenting Engineering Change Orders associated with said projects. Solving product performance issues using various company data systems and developing design corrections.

  • Provide engineering support for new product development projects in a lead role.

  • Interface with Product Group leader and Project manager as well as ECO liaison as well as other project team members to enhance existing products.

  • Provide direction to others relative to assigned project development activities

  • Design solutions that meet the specific needs or directives outlined in Engineering Change requests.

  • Provide engineering and Finite element analysis as required by the project scope.

  • Work with vendors to facilitate communication and product development needs.

  • Write test plans and quality documents.

  • Ability to generate manufacturing-ready designs, including a proven ability to work with factory personnel to ensure capabilities alignment.

  • Execute Engineering analysis and high-level accepted engineering practices

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required along with 4-5 years engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of solid modeling, using Solid Works.

  • Strong drafting ability including a working knowledge of various dimensional call outs tolerances and symbols.

  • Experience performing stress analysis.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents as well as blueprints and work instructions.

  • Very High level of mechanical aptitude along with fundamental understanding of electrical.

  • An understanding of materials and their relative properties as it relates to engineering.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and/or the general public.

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

  • Hands on ability to develop test fixtures and perform testing of design elements.
