Responsibilities

The primary role of the material handler position is to distribute materials throughout the production floor, scanning product, and moving it to specified locations while operating powered industrial

trucks in a safe manner.

  • Report to front line leadership.

  • Work as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goals.

  • Perform daily inspections on forklift.

  • Perform Trailer inspections prior to loading & unloading.

  • Stock machines with correct materials by reading, interpreting & processing lotinformation & material type.

  • Verify WIP labels, carton ID labels with hand held scanner.

  • Check production quantity for accuracy.

  • Transport materials/product using scanner.

  • Move product to warehouse and assign to proper location.

  • Practice First In & First Out product movement.

  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed or assigned.

  • Maintain lot control traceability.

  • Assist palletizers or operators when needed.

  • Control of non-conforming product.

  • Manage scrap identification & flow within production.

  • Work and perform to ISO Standards, SOPs and established Work Instructions.

  • Uphold Quality Standards and follow the Absolutes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Read & interpret traveler/work order.

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safetystandards.

  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.

  • Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness andprofessionalism of your attitude.

  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.

  • Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuringquality.

  • Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detailin the performance of you and your team’s work.

  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.

  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.

  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency ofyour work.

  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.

  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Capable of operating a forklift in a safe and cautious manner to the satisfaction ofthe supervisor; six months of forklift driving experience required.

  • Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs periodically.

  • Previous experience in material handling or shipping/receiving preferred.

  • Ability to interpret work orders.
