Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support the scale-up of our new building operations. As we transition to a 7-day-a-week schedule, we need to increase production efficiency. The Controls Engineer will be essential in monitoring and addressing product issues, ensuring operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, program, test, and repair programmable logic equipment and associated peripherals

• Make changes to existing control logic and operator interface programs

• Assist in the implementation of new control systems

• Install and configure programming terminals

• Maintain data structure of terminals used to monitor programs and operate machinery

• Install, test, and repair electrical controls components

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and apply knowledge of functional operation of machinery and electrical control units and systems

• Assist maintenance in identifying defective components and wiring, and adjusting mechanical parts

• Align, adjust, and calibrate control components

• Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests

• Perform programming and troubleshooting of controllers

• Read schematics and OEM specifications to program, configure, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• PLC programming

• Controls engineering

• Experience with FactoryTalk

• Expertise with complex systems such as RS View and RS Logic 5000

• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation components

• Ability to design and program the function of automated equipment

• Proficient with MS Office

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of experience

• Experience with robots, particularly Fanuc (training provided but ability to reteach a robot's pick and place position is preferred)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.17
