Job Purpose:

Responsible for the occupational health, safety, environmental, and loss control management of Progress Rail Jackson, SC facility. Provides Facility-level Environmental, Health and Safety Strategies, policies and processes in support of Company’s operations. Responsible for evaluating, developing, planning, directing, training, and implementing environmental, safety, and health initiatives that will ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free working environment.

Education / Training:

• BS Degree in Environmental, Scientific, Chemical, Civil, Safety or Engineering preferred;

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in EHS field can be substituted for BS Degree.

Key Job Elements:

• Performs inspections and tests planned to provide experience and familiarization with company operations, specific EHS issues and regulations, and company practices;

• Collects and evaluates data;

• Assists in managing various environmental programs;

• Oversees and manages various aspects of EHS programs within the facility;

• Assists more experience professionals in developing solutions;

• Deliver and develop a variety of training programs;

• Effectively use and navigate Progress Rail’s Environmental Safety System (PRESS);

• Assist in preparation of environmental compliance audits and inspections;

• Documentation, reporting, and root cause analysis of spills and chemical releases;

• Serve as secondary point of contact for environmental compliance issues within manufacturing operations;

• Assists with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for assigned programs;

• Work with facility operations to meet environmental expectations and improve operating metrics;

• Assist in the development and implementation of polices and directives for the facility;

• Maintains records and data necessary to evaluate compliance with regulatory and company standards;

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Solid understanding of environmental, health and safety practices and regulatory requirements;

• Ability to multi-task, follow-through, work independently, and meet critical regulatory deadlines;

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

• Must have valid driver’s license.
