Entergy Distribution Specialist Sr, Work Methods and Tool Team in Jackson, Mississippi

Job Summary/Purpose
Performs a wide variety of activities associated with transmission line, substation, and distribution line construction and maintenance activities for all service areas in Entergy. This includes creating and maintaining work methods and construction standards and maintain the work tool inventory. Responsible areas may include operations and maintenance, asset management, reliability, safety, and training.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Performs a wide variety of construction and maintenance support activities in transmission, substation, and distribution related areas such as developing and maintaining the work methods and construction standards.
Assist with training construction and reliability groups on updates to work method and construction standards.
Uses engineering and/or technical principles, best practices, and knowledge of internal and external business issues to solve problems, develop cost-effective technically sound solutions, and improve products or services.
Applies knowledge of engineering and/or technical principles in evaluating alternatives, making decisions, and interpreting/employing applicable electrical codes, procedures, standards, processes, and policies.
Provides leadership and direction to others in the department.
Work with other disciplines within the Power Delivery organization and other company business units to achieve stated goals.
Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Technical Degree (2-year Associate or 4-year Bachelor’s) and/or years of operational experience in electric utilities commensurate with progression level (15 years for Specialists and 20 years for Sr. Specialists).
Preferred: Education and/or experience requirements in underground Distribution Lines.
Minimum experience required of the position
8 years of experience with 4-year bachelor’s degree
12 years of experience with 2-year associate degree
16 years of experience with supervisory experience
20 years without degree
Preferred: Underground Transmission and Distribution Systems and networks experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
In-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
Consistently demonstrates good judgement
Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.
Good math skills.
Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred:
Knowledgeable in MS Office toolkit.
Self-motivated with ability and desire to make good decisions.
Able to work cross-functional with other personnel, departments and organizations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
