Position: Material Shipping Handler Shift: 1st Pay: $17.00 to start w/ pay increase upon hire in - pay increases w/ CDL as well Hours: 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday-Friday

SUMMARY Proper material management of materials coming into and shipping from facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads Daily Pick List or follow oral instructions to pull parts, stage freight, scan, wrap and apply customer labels as required.
  • Operate machinery as instructed.
  • Load and unload all trucks and move items to the appropriate area.
  • Verify and sign for deliveries.
  • Verify product and quantity write-up movement tickets for incoming parts, and hand-shippers for all out-going product & turn in movement tickets.
  • Takes individual responsibility for all aspects of part quality to provide
  • Store and maintain customer containers.
  • Submit ideas to promote continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention, and the reduction of variation and waste.
  • Follow process and procedures according to IATF requests.
  • Uses and follows procedures and work instructions pertinent to tasks assigned.
  • Follow customer window time for shipments.
  • Takes individual responsibility for housekeeping in the specific work area and generally throughout the facility.
  • Weekend/Holiday shipments could be required based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Responsible for quality of part produced per the operator instructions.
  • Know, understand, utilize, and follow IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 procedures.
  • Attention to details related to customer specific requirements.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives and look for continuous improvement ideas.
  • Supports and exemplifies corporate values and commitment to quality, optimism, ownership, teamwork, and communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED. One to three years of related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid fork truck license.
  • Able to work at a quick pace.
  • Must have a valid current state issued driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to mount and operate forklift and motor vehicle. Good eye/hand/foot coordination. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on occasion. A job consists of a good range of motion involving prolonged walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and standing. Knowledge of chemicals specific to jobs-some exposure to fumes. Some telephone usage required.

MENTAL/VISUAL:

Good eye/hand/foot coordination required. Must be able to operate computer, scanner equipment, stretch wrapper, weight scales and forklift truck. Good math skills required for inventory control. Basic office machine use involved.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Will be required to work in a plant -- factory environment where there is some exposure to noise, dust, glass fibers, fumes, and heat. Mu
